Testosterone hormone optimization therapy

Testosterone Hormone Optimization + Replacement

Testosterone allows us to retain muscle mass, enhance libido, increase focus, produce blood cells, + for men, reduces or eliminates erectile dysfunction. Men + women with low testosterone benefit from testosterone replacement therapy. For men’s testosterone levels, they begin a slow but steady decline around age 35. When a man begins to experience this phase in life it is known as Andropause. For women’s testosterone levels, they may have a more rapid decline starting around age 35, dropping quickly at menopause.

Where a gradual decline in testosterone levels may be considered normal, it is not optimal if this decline is causing symptoms. Listen to your body + determine what is best for you. Dr. Toni Varela, NMD can help you determine where your levels are + guide you on the right path to achieve optimal health.

What Is Testosterone Hormone Optimization Therapy?

Testosterone therapy is stimulating your body’s own natural testosterone production + providing proper dosage of testosterone hormone to counteract symptoms of low testosterone in men + women. Dr. Toni Varela, NMD creates customized plans built for your individual needs. Treatment plans are designed specifically for you + can include one form of treatment or a combination of different approaches.

  • Enclomiphene 6.25 - 25mg - Experience a 1.5-2.5X testosterone in 1-3mos + sperm boost without the testicular shutdown, shrinkage, infertility, and dependence of dated alternatives. As a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM), enclomiphene blocks estrogen, tricking the brain into producing the hormones luteinizing hormone (LH) and Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH).

  • Testosterone Injections – men only. The injection site is typically in the gluteal muscles + administered at the office unless you prefer to self-administer, then your injection site would be in your thigh or gluteal muscle. Shots offer the convenience of once to twice a week dosing.

  • Testosterone Creams – for men and women. Topical forms, available in a gel or cream, applied to the skin daily. It is a good idea to try + apply the cream at the same time each day, as this will help in making sure you remember to use the cream. The creams are obtained from a compounding pharmacy with the dosage customized to your needs.

  • Testosterone Pellets - We do Not Do. One of the things Dr. Varela sees often is a woman suffering from acne, hair loss, +/or irritability due to the testosterone pellet. In these cases, we can offer testosterone metabolism support to lower these high levels of testosterone quickly, especially if you are unable to remove the pellet immediately.

If your lab results show low levels of progesterone, bio-identical capsules + creams may be recommended to replace deficient levels. For women, if your estrogen levels are low, the doctor may also recommend oral troches or creams. These methods are proven to be more effective than over the counter medications. Many people try to increase testosterone through over-the-counter pills, but pills for testosterone can be hard on the liver and have shown to have a minimal increase in testosterone for patients, if any increase occurs.

Under the care of the right medical provider, this type of therapy is completely safe. After treatment, patients typically see improved mood, better energy throughout the day, + an increased ability to build muscle + burn fat. Other benefits include: Enhanced libido (sex drive)

  • A decrease in aches and pains

  • Faster recovery from exercise

  • Increased focus

  • Ability to remember things better (not always forgetting things throughout the day), less brain fog.

  • Healthier looking skin and stronger bones

  • For men, improvement in erections

  • For women, greatly diminished night sweats

During your visit with Dr. Toni Varela, NMD we will review your holistic health factors - diet, exercise, sleep, mind, toxins, supplements, + hormone balancing. Balancing your hormones helps keep you at optimal levels of health.
